ECG has enjoyed working with many real estate and property management firms in the Chicagoland area. These firms often retain ECG to address environmental issues of importance to their tenants.
ECG commonly provides the following services to real estate and property managers include:
• Asbestos materials testing and removal
• Lead-based paint testing and abatement
• Mold investigations and abatement
• Phase I and Phase II Site Assessments
For example, many of ECG’s downtown clients conduct proactive, bi-annual indoor air quality and domestic water testing in their buildings. By doing so, they establish a baseline for air and water quality. ECG tests for over a dozen indoor air quality (IAQ) and water quality parameters. For indoor air quality, testing is conducted for the following potential air contaminants:
• Temperature
• Relative humidity
• Carbon dioxide (CO2)
• Carbon monoxide (CO)
• Respirable Dust
• Total volatile organic compounds
• Formaldehyde
• Ozone
For water quality, ECG commonly conducts testing for:
• Legionella bacteria
• Total coliform bacteria
• Metals including arsenic, cadmium, arsenic, beryllium, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, mercury, nickel, selenium, silver, thallium, and zinc
